Our social club

Joining the Social Club will give you a greater sense of connection to the people you work with here at Southland District Council.

The Social Club runs several functions throughout the year – these are organised by committee members and include regular annual parties like Oyster Night and a Christmas function, as well as other ideas suggested by staff.

The Social Club also likes to hold a range of family-friendly events so that members across all stages of life get to take part in the fun. If you’ve got a great idea for an event, we want to hear it.

Raffles are held regularly to celebrate special occasions like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Easter. The Social Club supports staff too. Members are celebrated with leaving shouts when they resign or retire, the committee congratulates members on new babies on behalf of all staff, and the club also rallies support when members or their families are unwell or suffering a bereavement.
